With over 27 years of experience in education, Alene Mutala brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her role as a Trustee with Edmonton Catholic Schools. Her background includes work as a teacher, school counsellor, Religious Education Consultant, and Health and Wellness Coordinator. Alene holds a Bachelor of Education in School Counselling from the University of Alberta, as well as a Graduate Diploma and a Master’s Degree in Religious Education from Newman Theological College. She also completed her Certificate for Catholic School Trustees from Newman. She is a proud mother and grandmother and has been an active member of St. Joseph’s Basilica and the Catholic Women’s League for over 30 years.
Alene is a lifelong learner and a strong advocate for publicly funded Catholic education. She has served on numerous boards, including the Alberta School Boards Association and the Alberta Catholic School Trustees’ Association, representing Edmonton Catholic Schools.
