Technology Services
Technology Services provides the systems, infrastructure, and support that enable teaching, learning, and administration across Edmonton Catholic Schools. We work closely with schools and Division departments—including Learning Services, Student Services, Human Resources, Finance and Procurement, School Operations, and Facilities—to make sure technology solutions meet operational and educational needs.
Our department is organized into seven core service areas. Together, these teams deliver reliable, secure, and responsive technology services across all schools and sites across the Division.
Information Services
Information Services supports the core applications and systems used across the Division for both instructional and administrative purposes. This includes platforms such as PowerSchool and SchoolMessenger, as well as systems that support Specialized Learning and other division programs.
The team is responsible for system configuration, ongoing support, and operational reporting, including providing access to reports and developing reports that support decision-making across schools and central departments.
Infrastructure Services
Infrastructure Services designs, builds, and maintains the Division’s core technology environment. This includes servers, storage, enterprise data centres, and identity management.
The team focuses on ensuring that core systems are stable, reliable, and capable of supporting services across all schools and sites.
Networking
Networking and Cybersecurity Services manages the Division’s network environment and protects its systems and data. This includes network architecture, connectivity between sites, internet access, and voice and telephony services.
The team is also responsible for monitoring and managing security risks, implementing safeguards, and maintaining a secure and resilient technology environment.

The team focuses on improving user experience, enabling effective work practices, and supporting staff in the day-to-day use of technology.
Site Support Services
Site Support Services provides direct, hands-on technical support to schools and Division sites. This includes supporting classroom and administrative devices, local networks, and connectivity.
The team also operates the Service Desk, which provides a central point of contact for technical support and coordinates issue resolution across Technology Services.

Software Development Services develops and maintains custom applications and reporting solutions that support Division operations.
These solutions are designed to meet specific Division needs, improve efficiency, and provide better access to information across systems.
How We Work
Technology Services is supported by centralized leadership functions that ensure work is prioritized, governed, and delivered effectively across the Division.
- Governance – Provides oversight, standards, and decision-making frameworks to ensure technology aligns with Division priorities, risk management practices, and compliance requirements.
- Project Management – Coordinates and delivers key initiatives across Technology Services, working with departments and school sites to plan, execute, and implement projects successfully.
These functions work across all service areas to ensure consistent delivery, clear accountability, and alignment with Division needs.
Our Approach
Technology Services is focused on delivering reliable, secure, and easy-to-use technology that supports student learning and Division operations. Our goal is simple: make technology work consistently in the background so students and staff can focus on what matters most.
