As a Catholic community, we join in offering our prayers:
Almighty God, we come before you with heavy hearts as we pray for the people of Jasper who are facing the ravages of the devastating wildfire. We ask for your divine protection and guidance for all those affected by the fire and we remember in a special way the residents of Jasper, the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes, and all those who are displaced, fearful, or in need. Provide them with comfort and peace amidst the chaos. May they find refuge in your support, compassion, and love.
Through the intercession of Mary, the Mother of God, protect the first responders and firefighters who are working tirelessly to contain the flames and grant them strength, courage, and wisdom as they navigate the dangerous conditions. Surround them with your shield of safety.
In this time of trial, may your presence serve as a beacon of hope and strength, helping the displaced and anguished to trust in your wisdom and grace. We pray this through your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
