Location

We serve the area east of 73 Street, between the North Saskatchewan River and the Yellowhead Trail. The school is easily accessible with one bus from LRT station.

    Key Features

  • Soccer Program offers exceptional training of individual soccer skills, development of game strategies, leadership in running clinics for younger students, and fitness training. The program utilizes the indoor soccer centres weekly, gymnasium, outdoor soccer fields and the new St. Nicholas Fitness Training Centre. The program cost for 2007 - 2008 was $30 monthly which includes soccer program uniforms. The students love the soccer program!
  • Exceptional Fine Arts Program: Instrumental music nurtures a passion of music through excellent training with grade bands, concert band and jazz band "The Beat Nics". The concert bands and jazz bands perform at various events, and travel with out-of-town or province trips each year.
    Dance:
    Offers ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop training five times weekly in the New St. Nicholas Dance Studio. The program cost of $30 monthly provides dance footwear, dance program jackets, and field trips to various dance performances. The students love the dance program!
    Guitar: Our fine arts program also offers the opportunity of learning to play the guitar and gaining an understanding of musical theory, chords and intervals while exploring the music of the past and present.
  • Science programming offers students many opportunities beyond the curriculum in environmental sciences, research and exploration through scientific inquiry, landscape designing, and robotics technology. The school shares partnerships with the U of A, Telus World of Science, Evergreen and the Canada Space Agency.
  • Strong Athletic program gives students membership to teams with a strong sense of team spirit and good sportsmanship with focused training in skills, games and strategies in volleyball, basketball and soccer.
  • Student Leadership Program giving students opportunities to use their creativity, passions, and skills to serve their school, parish and community, building student ownership and a synergetic school spirit .
  • School-wide Organization and Study Skills is a school goal brought to fruition by a set timetable structure that provides time and involvement of all teachers to teach, monitor, and make students accountable for high expectations of good learning habits necessary for student success.
  • French Student Trip to Quebec made possible by a group of committed parents, students and teacher to provide a rich French cultural experience.
