We support the Catholic teachings of sexuality while encouraging parents to make an informed decision on the HPV Vaccine. The District believes that this is a health issue and not a religious one.
Our District looks forward to working with Capital Health to offer the HPV Vaccine to Grade 5 students in our schools next school year, and to Grade 9 students in 2009. The District will work with Capital Health to give information to parents that outlines the benefits and any risks associated with this vaccine.
Board Chairperson Cindy Olsen has been interviewed by some media today. Watch for the story on tonight's 6 p.m. CBC TV and Global TV newscasts.
